Simple Gatefold Card | Floral Essence 'Post-It' Masking Technique | You Are Amazing

Hi There! Its Bruno here - long time no see.
The other night, I was in need of some crafting ..... and this is the result. Here it is.....

Can I just say - I really like how this card turned out!

Do you want to make it too? Awesome! Follow these directions;

  1. Take Pretty Peacock cardstock and cut piece 14.9 cm x 21 cm (5 1/2" x 8 1/2")
  2. Score card at 5.2 cm (2 1/8") from each end and fold to create simple gate. Set aside.
  3. Cut piece of Basic White card stock 14.9 cm x 14.9 cm (5 1/2" x 5 1/2")
  4. Take floral image from Floral Essence stamp set and stamp using Tuxedo Black Memento ink onto a post-it note (ensure that part of the image is at the top of the post-it note). Carefully cut around edge of post it note. Do this twice. These will be your masks.
  5. Stamp the flowers onto the Basic White card stock. After you stamp each flower, cover the stamped image with the mask and stamp again. For some areas, you will need to use two masks.
  6. Stamp the middle on each flower.
  7. Cover the piece of card stock with flowers, leaving some white space in the middle running from top to bottom (see photo below)
  1. Take some snips and 'fussy-cut' from top to bottom. You should have two pieces.
  2. Take blending brush and add Pretty Peacock ink to the middle of each flowers.
  3. Take the two large stamped pieces and adhere to each side of the gate-fold. You shouldn't see any of the Pretty Peacock card stock from the front, so you may need to trim down the card stock. Adhere to card base.
  4. On a separate piece, stamp a flower and the middle part.
  5. Using stampin' blends, colour the flower. Fussy-cut the flower.
  6. Find a flower that is towards the middle/top of the card and adhere the coloured flower.
  7. For the 'belly-band,' cut a strip of Vellum 2.5 cm (1 ") thick. It should be long enough to wrap around the card.
  8. The sentiment is from the 'You Are Amazing' stamp set. Stamp onto the vellum using Tuxedo Black ink and heat-emboss using clear embossing powder.
  9. Take a piece of Pretty Peacock and cut out piece using die from Tasteful Labels dies. Adhere to rear of vellum using mini-glue dots.
  10. Wrap vellum around card and adhere at rear.

I hope you enjoyed this project today - I'd love to hear what you thought about it!

  2. I love this idea! Great card, Bruno! I'll have a stamp set with big flowers next month, as well as my Butterfly Brilliance bundle, and I might try it with both. I wonder if it would work with ice cream cones...
