Maui Trip Achievers Blog Hop September 2020 | Flip Card using Menagerie Mixup with Ridiculously Awesome!

Welcome to our monthly Maui Trip Achievers Blog Hop. We are a group of Stampin' Up!® Demonstrators from around the world that have achieved the Stampin' Up!® bonus of the Maui trip. We want to celebrate this achievement by organising a monthly hop which helps us to continue to inspire you creatively.

You may be starting here or have come from someone else's blog - either way there is a list at the end of this post to help you move around all the different blogs and get many amazing ideas. We all have our country listed - so if you are looking for a demonstrator these are top demonstrators in their country and would love to look after you with your Stampin' Up!® shopping or if you would like to join our Stampin' Up!® teams.

We have someone taking over my blog today! It's my hubby Bruno - he has an adorable card that I just had to get him to highlight for us. Over to you Bruno.

I was on YouTube and a number of projects that came up on my feed about flip cards (sometimes they are called wiper cards). I wanted to make a version and I had an idea in my head to use the Menagerie Mixup bundle. Here is the project;

Isn't it fun!!!!! I have been wanting to use this bundle since it was released. I haven't seen many samples using this. This is a moving card! When you pull the tab, it opens. Here are two photos showing it closed and open.

Here are some notes about the project;
  • I started with a Pretty Peacock card base. There is an intermediate layer which is Whisper White.
  • The designer series paper is from the Whale of a Time collection. I love the colours of this particular sheet.
  • The pull tabs and the hinges are using Thick Whisper White. As these are movable, the Thick Whisper White needs to be firm.
  • The panels on the front are using the Stitched So Sweetly dies. I cut out four pieces using Whisper White and mounted two on the front of the hinge and two on the rear of the hinge (when in the 'open' position).
  • The koala is made using the Menagerie Mix-Up Bundle. These were SOOOOO much fun to make! I used Grey Granite and Blushing Bride card stock. The ground on the front and inside is also cut out using the stitched so sweetly die and torn using Terracotta Tile. I adhered the koalas using dimensionals.
  • The sentiment on the front is using the Ridiculously Awesome stamp set. I stamped using Versamark and heat embossed using white embossing powder. I then cut out using a smaller Stitched so Sweetly die and adhered using dimensionals.
  • The sentiment on the inside is using the Todays Tiles stamp set.
Below is a GIF of this card in action.

Im not going to lie - this was a bit of a complicated card to design. But once I understood the concept, it was alot easier. Would you like to see a video of how it was made? Leave a comment below and let me know if it's something you would be interested in seeing. We really appreciate you stopping by to have a look at this project. 11. OMGosh Bruno! Your Flip Card using Menagerie Mixup with Ridiculously Awesome! Stamp set....totally awesome and so fun looking! What a cute card and yes, I can imagine it would have been a little complicated to design, but as it says on the card, "you got this" 😃 I also agree with some of the comments in that I think the design would be great for a Halloween card. So is there a video out on how to make it yet, and if not, please would you make one? Cheers, Heidi 😊💙🎨🖼
