There's something about a scene card that brings a project to life, and the Safari Smiles Bundle makes creating those little stories so much fun. With sweet line-art animals, coordinating dies, and scenery elements, it's easy to build a card that's full of personality.

For this card, I created a playful elephant family scene with a soft blended background and a bright pop of Golden Glow to tie everything together.

Creating the Background

I started with a Golden Glow card base to give the project a warm, cheerful frame.

For the card front, I used a piece of Basic White cardstock and blended the background using Stampin' Blends. Pool Party created a soft sky, while Crumb Cake gave the ground a natural, sandy look. This simple technique creates a lovely backdrop without needing patterned paper and really helps the stamped images stand out.

Bringing the Elephants to Life

The stars of the card are, of course, the adorable elephants from the Safari Smiles Stamp Set.

I stamped each elephant onto Basic White cardstock before colouring them with Basic Grey, Basic Black, and Grey Granite Stampin' Blends. Using different shades gives each elephant its own personality while still keeping the overall scene cohesive.

Once they were coloured, I used the coordinating Safari Smiles Dies to cut them out.

Adding the Little Details

One of my favourite parts of this bundle is all the extra dies that help you build a complete scene.

For this card I also cut out Clouds, Grass and Rocks. These little elements add depth and interest without making the design feel busy.

I couldn't resist adding one of the tiny birdies too! I stamped it, coloured it with Golden Glow Stampin' Blends, and cut it out with the coordinating die before placing it on one of the elephants for an extra touch of fun.

Finishing the Card

To finish the card, I stamped the "Congratulations" sentiment using VersaMark ink before heat embossing it with White Emboss Powder and setting it with my Heat Tool.

The embossed greeting stands out beautifully against the blended background and adds a lovely professional finish.

Finally, I adhered the completed panel to the Golden Glow card base, and the card was finished!

One of the things I enjoy most about this bundle is how easy it is to create complete scenes. The coordinating dies do so much more than simply cut out the stamped images. They include landscape elements that help you build depth and dimension with very little effort.

The line-art images are also perfect for colouring, whether you enjoy realistic shades like I used here or want to experiment with brighter, more playful colours.
