Today I want to share a project that came together almost by accident — and turned into one of my favourites.
I made a card using scraps of the Gathering Together Specialty Designer Series Paper. It was such a fun way to use up little leftover pieces, and I loved how it all came together. That inspired me to try the same design again, but this time with a completely different look.
Enter the Painterly Pears Designer Series Paper. 🍐🎨
The soft brushstrokes and rich colours in this DSP gave the project a fresh personality. I started with a main piece from the collection and then ran it through the *Branching Out Nested Dies*. That one step really polished everything off — it framed the paper beautifully while keeping the design simple and clean.
What I love most about this card is how versatile the design is. It’s easy to adapt with different patterned paper, and each time you get a whole new feel. From autumn leaves to painterly pears, the possibilities are endless!
If you’ve been saving your DSP scraps, this is the perfect way to give them new life. A handful of pieces, a favourite die set, and you’ve got yourself a gorgeous handmade card.
I’ll definitely be making more of these, and I can’t wait to see how the design looks with other paper collections.
