TGCDT: March 2021 | Just Because using Well Suited

Hi There and thanks so much for stopping by today. Its Bruno here im participating in the monthly design team blog hop for TGCDT - The Gentleman Crafters Design Team (all of the members are from around the world and are ..... MALE!)

I have a project to share with you today that I can hear Kylie say 'Only you would wear something like that Bruno.' LOL! Probably true! Im using the Well Suited Suite (English is so weird - In the one sentence, the same combination of letters are pronounced different). This suite was one that caught my attention. Stampin' Up! has had some stamps with ties etc. before - but nothing like this! Here is my project;

So, I had some strips on my desk and I liked how Just Jade, Bermuda Bay, Pretty Peacock and Coastal Cabana all looked together. So, using these colours, I created a striped suit! If you want to replicate this card, you can do the following;
  1. Start with a Just Jade card base (10.5cm x 29.7cm or 4 1/4" x 11", scored in half).
  2. Take a piece of Basic White (approx 11 cm x 20 cm or 5 1/2" x 8"). This is what you can adhere the strips to.
  3. Cut strips of Just Jade, Bermuda Bay, Pretty Peacock and Coastal Cabana. These are 1/4" (its simpler to use imperial measurements as the lines across the trimmer are in inches. The strips will need to be the full height of the Basic White.
  4. Adhere strips to Basic White Piece. The whole sheet should be covered.
  5. From this piece, cut a piece which will be the suit jacket. (14.4cm x 10 cm or 4" x 5 1/4"). You will use the remaining pieces later.
  6. Cut out the suit jacket using the die.
  7. Take the piece cut above and using the Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine, emboss using the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder.
  8. Using the pieces remaining from step 5, cut out the lapel. You will do this in 2 halves. The direction of the stripes should be different as shown in the sample.
  9. Take the pieces cut above and using the Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine, emboss using the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder. Adhere to suite jacket.
  10. The denim-look shirt is 6x6 DSP from the Assortment Collection. Cut this to size and using the die, cut the button panel. Adhere to shirt.
  11. Cut the buttons using the die and Night of Navy cardstock. Adhere to button panel.
  12. Cut out the collar using Basic White. Adhere to shirt.
  13. Adhere shirt to rear of Suit jacket.
  14. Adhere suit jacket to card base.
  15. Cut out the bow tie using the die. The paper used is Natural Touch specialty paper. Adhere using dimensionals.
  16. The sentiment is from Brushed Blooms stamp set. Using Just Jade cardstock, Stamp using Versamark and Heat Emboss using White embossing powder. Cut out using snips and adhere to card using dimensionals.

As mentioned, this is a blog hop! Make sure you hop around to all of the other participants to check out their AWESOME products!
