You are THE BEST | Bruno has a try making a Scrappy Strip Mosaic Card

Hi Everyone! Bruno here! I have been watching Kylie make Scrappy Strip Mosaic Cards based on Linda Driggs card we received and Ive been dying to make one. Ive also been wanting to make a Slimline Card. So, I did BOTH for the same project. Here is the project I made.

The colour pallette selected was the pallette used on the Forever Greenery Suite. NOTE: If you are ever stuck for a colour combination, why not try using colours that are already together in a colour suite?

In case you don't know how to make a 'mosaic' card, here is a video Kylie made.

The only difference between the video demonstration and my card is that instead of cutting straight lines, I cut angled lines. Please note the following;
  • For the slimline card, I cut the Full Sheet of cardstock down to a square (21 cm x 21 cm) and scored in the middle (at 10.5 cm). I used Thick Whisper White card stock.
  • I used a piece of Whisper White to mount the mosaic pieces on it. I then mounted this onto another piece of Whisper White and then adhered this to the card base.
  • I cut out some Vellum using Stitched Nested Labels and attached to card using dimensionals.
  • I used some of the pre-cut Forever Gold pieces (I used them on the White Side) and attached to card using dimensionals.
  • The sentiment is from the Tasteful Touches stamp set. I stamped using Memento Black on a piece of Whisper White and then mounted onto a piece of Pretty Peacock using dimensionals.

I love how this card turned out. If you are going to try this Mosaic Technique, it is SUPER important that each piece is adhered the full width of the piece. If you look closely, you can see where I lost a small piece. I was going to cut a piece and stick it down to fix it up, but I wanted to post it as-is a cautionary tale for you.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Im so thankful for your time.

  1. Bruno, I love that you cut the mosaic strips at an angle, just like the scrappy strips. Thanks for sharing your card!
