Let Your FAITH be bigger than your FEAR | Cards for our Congregation #loveitchopit

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

As you may know, Victoria (the state that we live in) has just gone into further restrictions to try to prevent the spread of the virus. This is causing alot of anxiety as there is now a curfew where we live and additional limits on how far residents can go from their homes (5 kms).

We decided to create a stack of cards for members of our congregation to accompany a small gift which we would post out to them to encourage them. Some have lost employment (or in insecure employment), some are unsure about what these restrictions will lead to, some are coping with illness and some are very sadly bereaved. Would you like to see the gift? Here is a pic of some of the gifts (they are scriptures we framed to remind them of beautiful bible passages).

When it comes to the card, what better sentiment to use than this one from the Ridiculously Awesome stamp set - Let Your FAITH be bigger than your FEAR

This perfectly conveys the message we were hoping to! Here is a group photo of a selection of the cards we created for this.

In addition to the amazing stamp set, we used the Flowers for Every Season DSP collection. This is bright and happy and this was a perfect opportunity to #loveitchopit

This DSP features the new 2020-22 In Colours, so we used each of these colours as the card bases.

In terms of the sizes of the DSP pieces, check out the cutting diagram below;

(Please note: The imperial measurements above are for 8 1/2" X 11" cardstock)

Using the above colours and relating them to the card design, please note the following;
  • The large DSP piece is the piece shown in the Magenta Madness above
  • The alternate DSP piece is the piece shown in Just Jade above
  • The small piece shown in Misty Moonlight above is used on the inside of the card
What about the leftover piece of DSP shown in Bumblebee above? We will be creating some cards in the near future using these.

We stamped the sentiment onto the banner piece using the same colour ink as the cardstock. The banner piece started off as a piece of cardstock in the same colour as the card base at 6.5cm x 9cm (3-1/2" x 2-1/2") and we just trimmed into a pennant shape using snips.

We added some ribbon in the same colour as the cardstock and adhered the pennant to the card base using dimensionals. Finally, we added some enamel dots in a contrasting colour.

We hope that the card and gift are comforting to the recipients of these gifts and they are able to remain calm despite the ongoing hardships they are facing.

There are so many different versions of this card - we have taken a photograph of most of them and included them below for some ideas for you;

  1. Kylie: This is a beautiful proof of your love for others. Mankind is suffering a lot . . . this virus is making us think of those who are less privileged than ourselves. May God bless you!
