Hoping Your Day is Perfect | Using the Sending Sunshine Stamp Set

Hi There! Its Bruno here and I have a different project to share with you today.

Recently, at the end of the previous Annual Catalogue, I spent some time going through all of our stock and identifying which stamp sets had retired. I came across a lot of stamp sets that I loved ..... but I had never used (does this happen to you too)? I also noticed that they were stamp sets that were of scenes or country sides or people. I was sad about not using some of them, so I made the decision that this year, if I bought them, I was going to use them (at least once). Thats what I have done today! Here is the project;

I started with a piece of Whisper White card stock. I used a post-it note to create a clean horizon line mask. I used Calypso Coral and Misty Moonlight with the Sponge Brayer to create the sky gradation (I was trying to go for a sunset look). I don't use the sponge brayers much, but when I do use them, I am always amazed at how well the colour blends together. To create the stars, I used the Stampin' Chalk Marker and just applied some simple dots.

For the stamped image, I used the Sending Sunshine stamp set. Have you seen this one? Here is a closer look at the stamp set.
There are two stamps that can be layered for the water - I actually only used one of them (larger one). I stamped the larger one in Calypso Coral and then around the edges, I applied some Misty Moonlight onto the stamp and then stamped it onto the same piece of card stock. The sample in the catalogue (on page 111) indicates that the edge of the stamp was the shore - I have interpreted the edge of the stamp as water (does that make sense). For this reason, I applied Misty Moonlight blends around the edge of the water to indicate that the water was continuing.

For the sun, I stamped the image in Versamark and heat set using White Embossing Powder. It is a Photopolymer stamp set, so it is simple to align correctly. To make it yellow, I used the Dark Daffodil delight Stampin' blend directly on the white embossing. I then directly stamped the sentiment with Versamark and heat set using White Emboss powder.

Finally, I trimmed this to size, mounted onto a piece of Misty Moonlight and then mounted onto a Misty Moonlight card base.

I was really happy with how this project turned out and I was able to use this stamp set. Do you want to add it to your collection? I would love to see some projects you make using this. Click on the shopping links below and buy them now.
