Lookin' Sharp - Where Do You Get Inspiration From?

Hi Everyone! This is Bruno taking over Kylies blog again today.

Where do you get colour inspiration from usually? The inspiration for todays cards (yes, there are TWO) takes me back to our time in the Philippines.

One of my workmates would tell me about this shopping district called Divisoria in Manila.

She described it as 'people everywhere.' She wasnt wrong! While there wasnt as many as shown in this picture, there was ALOT! There was one section which was filled with phone covers and accessories (I think it was a bridge as well) which was the only time that I felt claustrophobic. I literally had to push my way through...... but we survived!

So, while we were there, I bought SOCKS! They were 100 Pesos a pair (about AUD$2.50). I thought that was cheap - I tried to bargain, to no avail. The local we were with told me it was too expensive. As soon as I saw the socks, I knew I was going to make this card using this punch! Here are the two cards I made;

This first version uses a collection of colours that I probably would never pair together. I used the corduroy ribbon with this card which is a part of this suite of products. It is awesome and I can't wait to use it again on another project. This is Dapper Denim, Emerald Envy, Lemon Lime twist, Whisper White, Powder Pink, Berry Burst and Elegant Eggplant.

For the next version, I used Copper Embossing powder onto the Tempting Turquoise card stock.

This card I used Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, Soft sky, Tempting Turquoise, Pacific Point and Night of Navy. Aren't they amazing together??
I bought four or five pairs of different colour combinations - here are my two favourites alongside the cards. Its really clear where the colour inspiration comes from.

I thought that it is interesting that ALL off the colours (except Elegant Eggplant and Very Vanilla) are In-Colours - maybe the sock manufacturer was looking at the Stampin' Up! catalogue? #lol

This is such a versatile bundle - the punch is awesome!!! And, the stamps are very masculine. If this bundle isn't a part of your collection already, scroll down to the shopping links at the bottom. I literally punched these shapes and stuck them down - can you think of the possibilities with all of the colour combinations?

Where do you get colour inspiration from? Maybe you haven't thought of socks - but these were AWESOME inspiration. Feel free to pin if you like them. Remember you can go shopping online 24/7 - why not got for a shop today and get the awesome Tailored Tag Punch that I used today. As you can see it makes fantastic cards! 1. I so love your cards today Bruno! I am always looking out for colour combos where ever I go. In nature, interior design, fashion, and art. It's amazing how unassuming colours go well together. My fave is the green and pink card with the corduroy ribbon.
