Barcelona - What a wonderful place!

We had a MASSIVE flight from Australia to Barcelona. All up it took around 25 hours to get to our destination. I have had a bit of a sore lip and got a few hours sleep on the plane our first leg.

When I woke up my lips had swollen up so much it look like I had surgery during the flight!
check out these hot lips. It was Crazy!

Here is Bruno showing off his amazing travel jacket that he purchased from Kickstarter a while ago. He makes me laugh so much with this jacket. It has built in eye mask - a pen in the zipper, built in gloves and even fits an iPad Air 2 and can of soft drink in the pockets. So hilarious - but he loves it so much!

We finally arrived in Barcelona after a short stop in Dubai and then went straight to our hotel room - I really wasn't sure what the hotel would be like but it was a reasonable price, close to the metro and had great reviews. Well we were pleasantly surprised. You can see my short video below -

We then went up to the pool deck and checked out the views from there -

You can see I have had around 3hrs sleep in 35hrs in this photo! lol

Then we decided to head into La Rambler in town - it is a well known area of Barcelona and it didn't disappoint. So amazing! We decided to use the Metro system - a little confusing when you haven't used it before - but we did very well and got ourselves into town.

A slight drama did occur though.. I decided to put a bottle of water in my bag.... along with the camera before we left. Can you guess what happened? The water split... and the camera died.... Oh no!!! I am devastated as I love my camera, and I feel awful about ruining it. Bruno actually handled it very calmly and kindly which I appreciate. I am still hoping that it somehow ends up working.... but I think it may end in purchasing another camera.

We had a look around here are some pictures -

We found a great place for eating dinner in the square.

We decided we are in Barcelona so we should have some Paella! Oh my it was so delicious. Bruno had a black ink squid one and it tasted so good - much better than it looked. lol

We saw on Facebook that Tanja Kolar and Caroline van der Straaten were really close to where we were eating so I posted a photograph of where we were eating and they came and found us!! I was so excited to see my first Stampin' Up! International faces that I knew. Especially as Tanja and I are Design team members on the Global Design Project together it was very special to see her.

Here is all of us -

After this Bruno and I took the metro back to the hotel and had a wonderful nights sleep, however Bruno booked a 8am tour for us the next day! Oh my, I knew it would be good to get up but I am not the best at waking up early especially after not sleeping for so long. But somehow we did it! And the tour today was incredible. One of the most amazing things I have seen in my life.

First we went to the Park Guëll - Eusebi Güell assigned the design of the park to Antoni Gaudí, a renowned architect and the face of Catalan modernism. The park was built between 1900 and 1914 and was officially opened as a public park in 1926. In 1984, UNESCO declared the park a World Heritage Site under “Works of Antoni Gaudí”. You could see why it was listed as a World Hertage site - Oh it was so wonderful! Here are just a few of my stand out pictures from the tour of the park -

I love this photo of Bruno - it was an accident photo he was walking past and was so excited - I love that I captured this! I didn't even know what to expect or what we were really doing and boy was it an incredible day.

I can't believe we were allowed to sit on this mosaic chair! I feel like it is such a privilege and that one day it will all be closed off to just look at. We had to make sure we took advantage of this opportunity!

Then we went to the Sagrada Familia... I am without words! Here is my video of inside -

Here are some of my favourite photos of this incredible building

We ran into the gorgeous Julie Davison! Wow! Star struck. :)

Gaudi's signature

Even though we were tired we thought we would head back into town and have a look around and we stumbled on a GEM. We found the Palau de la Musica Orfeo Catalana. Oh my! So amazing! Here are some pictures from that little tour.

This was on the roof of the theatre - an incredible stained glassed window that was so wonderful! This is what it looked like up close on the third floor -

How stunning is that??

They put glass in front of the old building and extended it - looks so amazing!

So there you have it the past three days all in one post! I am so happy that Bruno got us up early to see these amazing things, as we would have missed out on seeing so much otherwise.

We are having an incredible time catching up with demonstrators from all around the world and tomorrow is going to be the start of our cruise. We are so looking forward to it! Will keep you posted on our adventures again soon.
