Global Design Project #026 | Sketch Challenge

It's another Global Design Project Challenge and this week we are playing along with an amazing Teneale Williams Sketch. You are going to love seeing what the Design team came up with. Also the gallery will fill up with amazing designs from around the globe. We are getting so much support with the Global Design Project that you will be so inspired. Here is the gorgeous sketch -

Here is my project using this sketch -

I don't usually go very literal with sketches - but today I wanted to use this gorgeous Bloomin' hearts Thinlits Die. I cut it out in Real Red and Whisper white and layered them on the smoky slate base. I added a small trim around the edge of the Basic Black to compliment the sentiment.

The sentiment is from the Number of years Stamp set in the Occasions catalogue page 11. If you don't have this stamp set yet - you NEED it. I found that the Project Life Cards & Labels Framlits were a perfect fit for this sentiment. I embossed this in white and then used dimensionals to add it to the Bloomin' Hearts Thinlit.

You may notice that the edges of the heart are not glued down? I did this for added dimension and interest as the heart really is the focal point of this card. I just glued the centre section so that this could curl up and around the sentiment.

This card was made especially for some friends of ours that have been married 17 years. They are such a gorgeous couple and I am thrilled to be able to make something special for them.

Thank you for visiting my blog today. I hope that you get some new techniques or ideas for cards that you are creating in the future. If you are a demonstrator - this would be a great card for classes or a workshop. You could simplify it by not adding the extra layer - and not embossing , just use basic Black Ink on Whisper White cardstock if it is for a workshop.

Please make sure you go and visit the Global Design Project and see what the designers have made! Hopefully we get more than 100 playing along with us this week! So exciting!
