How exciting to be back and playing with the Global Design Project weekly again! We had Bibi's wonderful challenge for two weeks and you did some incredible projects yet again. Congrats to the winners too. This weeks colour challenge is not for the faint hearted. I found it a challenge to try and think out of the square. Please make sure you head over to the challenge blog to see the designers incredible work with this design challenge. Click Here
Here is the picture that inspired the idea for my card today. I love drawing ideas for my creativity from pictures and art -
This gorgeous Tea cup is a Wedgwood designed cup an is just gorgeous! I thought to myself how can I get patterns on my tea cup? First I thought of the kissing effect, nope not right. Then I did emboss resist and it looked fantastic - however even easier and quicker - why not emboss right on top! Silly me! Took me a while to work it out - but I am so happy with the result. There will be lots of ideas that we could use on these tea cups.
The stamps that I used are the new Bloomin' Love for the flower on the tea cup and the friend Sentiment. The dotted leaves in the background are from the Grateful Bunch stamp set and in the back ground to grunge it up a bit I used the Timeless Textures stamp set and a bit of sponging. The tea cup and hearts come from the A Nice Cuppa and Cups and Kettle Framelit Dies that come in a bundle.
But wait THERE's MORE to show you! I tried my first tunnel card! So here is inside. I kept it really simple as I was testing it out, but there is so much room for creativity with these type of cards.
I do like writing somewhere and so I added the white panels so that there is plenty of room to write in the card too. I like my cards to have my personal message on this inside. The idea of doing the tunnel card came from the new Party Pop ups Thinlits dies in the new catalogue. I wondered if I could do something similar with other cards.
The tunnel cards add some fun to a card and a nice surprise.
So thanks for joining me today! As I mentioned at the intro please make sure you head over to the Global Design Project to see the other designers cards and also all those that play along. I hope that you will be one of them.
