TGIF Challenge and Blog Candy Giveaway

What a day it was yesterday! I had a team member promote to Manager (awesome work Angela) and this means that another team member is so so close to earning the Grand Vacation to the Mediterranean! It will be the first Crazy Crafter team member that I have had earn the trip and there may just happen to be two that earn it this year. The incredible thing is that both of them have only been demonstrators since October last year. That's right, less than a year they have made manager and will more than likely get the Grand Vacation. Thrilled for them.

I saw this TGIF challenge and knew that I wanted to make some congratulation cards as there have been a few other promotions in my team. It's a Remix Challenge and these are the two challenges in one that I wanted to try for my card.

Here are the two I chose -

The colour challenge and favourite new stamp

Here is the card I made -

Highlights to point out in this card:

The sentiment from the Watercolour Wishes Kit I have stamped twice. Once in Blackberry Bliss - and then using my Stamp-a-ma-jig I stamped again in Smoky Slate for a shadow effect.

The splatters I also used a technique I saw on the Live stream of the Inspire.Create.Share event in Utah recently. Brandi Barnard showed how you can add a bit of water to the Multipurpose glue and use your aqua painters to splatter some glue on your card. I then tipped the gorgeous silver Stampin' Glitter over the top and can you see the awesome effect it has given? all different shapes and sizes of glitter blobs. LOVE this technique.

The script writing is from the By the Tide Stamp set - that I only just got recently and I am wondering why I didn't get this stamp set when it first came out. I really like it.

Here is the gorgeous bold colour combination that TGIF Design Team came up with. I am normally not a fan of Blackberry Bliss - but I love it with the Island Indigo and Smoky Slate. Stunning.

Head over to TGIF Challenge blog to see more inspiration or maybe even enter in yourself.

Check out what Supplies I used at the bottom of the page. Use the code CBZPREFU, order over $50 in August and you will be given a gift of a pack of 20 sheets of 4"x6" Brand new Neutrals paper just for ordering on my Stampin' Up! Online Store.

I have recently done a BIG clean up in my stamp room - it feels like I am cleaning it all the time. How did I become a craft hoarder? My husband Bruno is very good at organisation so he helps me get on top of things when they start getting out of control. Why am I telling you this? Well because it means with the clean out I have a STACK of retired paper that I used bits and pieces of - but not a whole pack of paper. That means you get to have some BLOG CANDY!

I don't want my international blog readers miss out so I have some smaller packs of retired paper here that won't cost me my life savings to post.
I will draw 3 international winners for a pack of 4"x6" retired paper stack and one Australian winner that will win the ENTIRE stack of paper below.

All you need to do to be in the draw is to tell me your favourite stamp set from the new annual catalogue and put what country you are from in the comments below. Demonstrators are more than welcome to play along. To follow my blog and make sure you don't miss out on one of my projects click here.

Winners will be drawn in one week's time on the 9th August 2015 at 11am AEST.

Here are the supplies I used for the Watercolor Wings Card above.

  7. I saw your card first on my phone and noticed there was something different about your sentiment too. I had to get on my computer to see if I was correct. I will have to try the shadowing technique. I also had Brandi's glue splatter technique on my list of things to try. The first thing I tried...using the white crafter's refill ink with sponge daubers on melon mambo with a stencil and then going over kinda like your shadow sentiment with melon mambo didn't go so well. I guess I had too much ink on my dauber. The melon mambo ink worked just fine. I'll have to try again. Have you tried this one?

I'd love some retired paper for myself or daughter's friends who like to make something when they come over to visit! I cannot name a favorite set. There are too many. The set I am most anxious to experiment with at the moment is Awesomely Artistic. I am from Florida in the US.

Loved the color combo on your card too.... Thanks for sharing and for the opportunity to win the paper. I have always wanted to go to Australia, by the way. I loved koala bears as a girl and that fact started some dreams. Blessings......Elizabeth

  8. Your cards continue to amaze me. Congratulations to you and your team for realizing so many achievements. So hard to come up with one stamp set but my favorite included a bit of a wait as it wasn't available until July. The Watercolor Wishes card kit includes an awesome stamp set. It covers so many occasions. That one will be staying in my collection for awhile. I am a reader from the foggy Monterey peninsula in California USA. Thanks for sharing your excess paper. Can you really ever have too much paper!

  20. I am new to Stampin Up, so only have a couple of stamp sets. Watercolour Wings is becoming my favourite - the more cards I see with it the more I like it; I love how you can vary the colours and it always looks lovely, and combine with the framelits dies and you have another way to create. I also watched your glitter splatter tutorial - definitely going to try that
