Bountiful Border with Endless Thanks

It's Mojo Monday Challenge time! I love these sketches so much. This one this week got me so motivated that I made it right after I saw the sketch. I have decided that sketches are the best way for me to get me starting to create. If I have an idea of a layout - things tend to fall into place after that. Its a bit like a puzzle - put everything together where I think they should go and then move them around until I feel it is the right placement and things are balanced.

Here is the sketch this week created by the talented Julee Tilman -

And here is my interpretation of the sketch -

I changed things up by going a bit off centre just for something new. The flowers are from the new Bountiful Border Polymer set. I love those little crushed curry dots that decorate it. I can see the dots being used for lots of other things too.

The background stamp is the new writing notes stamp set and is a bit sneaky as a background stamp hiding on page 40 of the catalogue. Have you noticed it before? I love the look it gives this card its subtle yet elegant still.

Here are my colour combinations if you want to pin it for inspiration - I love this combo together and I adore the new Tip Top Taupe - it is fast becoming my "go to colour"

Tips and Techniques:
(Australian measurements are in metric)

I am really happy with the crisp look of the Whisper White with this card - but it would work just as well with the Very Vanilla too.
  • I started with a piece of Whisper White A4 that I cut in half lengthways at 10.5cm.
  • The first layer of Tip Top Taupe is 10cm x 14.4cm
  • The rectangle shapes - Very Vanilla is 5.5cm x 8.5cm and the Tip Top Taupe is 5cm x 8cm
  • I cut a strip of Cherry Cobbler at 1.5cm and used the triple banner punch.
  • The circle is from the Circles Collection Framelits and I used the fifth largest circle including the largest scallop circle framelit, which I raised on dimensionals.
I sponged the outside of all of the pieces with the Tip Top Taupe.

I stamped the Bountiful Border stamp and then cut it out using the Circles Collection Framelits and made sure that it was off centre so I had room to add the Thank you sentiment from the Endless thanks stamp set.
