One of the reasons I love being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator is the community.
Yes, I love papercrafting and creating with Stampin’ Up! products, but there’s something else that makes being a demonstrator so enjoyable — being part of a group of people who share that same love of creating.
Our team is called The Crazy Crafters, and it’s a wonderful community where we can share ideas, encourage one another and be inspired by the different ways everyone approaches their papercrafting. Our team card swaps are a lovely example of that, and today I thought I’d share some of the beautiful projects from one of our Crazy Crafters swaps with you.
What Is a Stampin’ Up! Card Swap?
If you’ve never participated in a card swap before, it’s quite simple.
For this swap, each person created 10 of the same card and sent them in. In return, they received 10 different handmade cards created by other members of the team.
So you spend your creative time working on one design, but at the end of the swap you have a wonderful collection of different ideas to enjoy.
One Team, So Many Different Ideas
This is one of the things I particularly enjoy about a swap. Just look at the variety in these projects.
There are bold colours and softer colour combinations, clean designs and projects with lots of layers and details. There are florals, leaves, interesting shapes, texture, patterned papers and some fabulous fancy folds too.
Every person brings their own style and ideas to what they create. That means a swap isn’t simply about receiving 10 cards. It’s also about receiving 10 different sources of creative inspiration from the people you’re sharing this experience with.
You might notice a colour combination you’d like to try, a layout you hadn’t considered before or a different way of using something already sitting in your craft supplies.
The Surprises Aren’t Always on the Front
A couple of the projects in this swap are also a great reminder that you can’t always tell everything about a handmade card from the first photograph.
These clever fancy-fold designs reveal even more when they’re opened, so I wanted to show you both views.
It’s another example of why sharing our projects with each other can be so inspiring. Sometimes seeing how somebody else has constructed a card is just the idea you need to try something different yourself.
It’s the Community I Love
For me, being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator isn’t only about the products. I love being part of the community that comes with it.
Our swaps are just one of the ways we can connect and share our creativity. Everyone contributes something of their own, and in return we get to enjoy the ideas and creativity of other members of the team.
I’m so happy to be able to share these swap projects with you because I think they give you a little glimpse of that community and the creativity within our team.
If there’s a particular project here that has caught your eye and you’d like to know more about it, please leave a comment. We’ll do our best to answer your questions.
Would You Like to Join Our Team?
If you live in Australia and you’ve wondered what it might be like to join Stampin’ Up!, being part of a creative community like The Crazy Crafters is another lovely reason to consider it.
We’d love to welcome you to The Crazy Crafters and have you become part of our creative community. And perhaps when our next team swap comes around, one of the beautiful projects we’ll be sharing will be yours.
