Two Elegant Cards Using the Violet Dreams Suite Collection

Two Elegant Cards, One Beautiful Suite Collection

One of my favourite things about Stampin' Up! suite collections is how beautifully everything works together. When the colours, papers, embellishments and dies have all been designed to coordinate, it makes creating handmade cards so much easier—and so much more enjoyable.

Today I'm sharing two cards made with the gorgeous Violet Dreams Suite Collection. Although they use many of the same products, a few simple changes give each card its own unique personality.

Elegant handmade card featuring the Violet Dreams Suite Collection with a Secret Sea scalloped oval, layered laser-cut florals and Shimmering Stripes Specialty Paper.

Card One – Elegant Layers

For the first card, I started with a Secret Sea card base and layered one of the Secret Sea patterned papers from the Violet Dreams Designer Series Paper collection over the front. The subtle white dotted design creates a lovely background without competing with the focal point.

To build the centrepiece, I die cut a scalloped oval from Secret Sea cardstock using the Framed Violets Bundle. Over that, I layered an oval cut from the Shimmering Stripes Specialty Paper, adding just the right amount of sparkle.

The beautiful laser-cut floral pieces included in the Designer Series Paper made creating the floral arrangement incredibly easy. I layered several together before finishing the design with Adhesive-Backed Blooms and a simple Secret Sea sentiment raised with Stampin' Dimensionals.

This card is a lovely example of how layering coordinating products creates an elegant design without needing lots of complicated techniques.

Card Two – A Different Look Using the Same Products

The second card was created during one of my live videos and shows just how versatile this suite really is.

I began with the same Secret Sea card base and Designer Series Paper, but this time I wrapped Fresh Freesia Satin Ribbon around the background layer and tied a small bow before assembling the card.

Instead of using the scalloped oval as the focal point, I chose one of the gorgeous laser-cut pieces from the Designer Series Paper. I layered a shimmering oval over the top before adding more laser-cut flowers and finishing with Adhesive-Backed Blooms.

To give this version a slightly more elegant finish, I stamped the sentiment with VersaMark ink, heat embossed it with Silver Embossing Powder, carefully fussy cut it and attached it using Stampin' Dimensionals.

The overall layout is similar to the first card, but those few design changes create a completely different finished look.

If you'd like to see exactly how I created the second card, I've included the full video tutorial below. You'll see how the layers come together, along with a few extra tips and tricks that are easier to demonstrate on video than in photos.

I hope you enjoy the tutorial! If you give either of these cards a try, I'd love to see your version. Feel free to leave a comment below and let me know which design is your favourite.

Why I Love the Violet Dreams Suite Collection

The Violet Dreams Suite Collection has been designed so every product works beautifully together. The coordinating colours, dies, papers, embellishments and ribbon make it easy to create polished projects without spending hours deciding what matches.

One of my favourite features is the laser-cut sheets included in the Designer Series Paper. They're perfect for building layered floral arrangements quickly, making them ideal whether you're creating one special card or crafting a whole batch.

Whether you prefer the layered elegance of the first design or the ribbon and silver embossed finish of the second, the Violet Dreams Suite Collection makes it easy to create beautiful handmade cards for almost any occasion. I hope these projects inspire you to pull out your favourite papers, experiment with layering and enjoy the creative process.
