Scenic Adventures Card: Masking, Layers, and a Little Extra Greenery 🌿

This project began as a clean, simple scene and ended up with a fun little twist that brought everything together beautifully.

I started with an Old Olive card base and added a Basic White layer with the sentiment stamped right in the centre using Tuxedo Black. To build the scene around it, I placed a strip of masking paper across the middle and stamped a row of trees using Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, and Shaded Spruce. For the lower portion, I stamped the water in Misty Moonlight and softly blended more ink to deepen the look and give the water a gentle sense of movement.

When I peeled back the masking paper, I loved the clean divide. Originally, that was going to be the finished card, but I decided to add one more detail. I trimmed the panel above the sentiment, cut a set of Mossy Meadow trees with the dies, and layered them behind the sentiment for extra depth. The sentiment piece popped up on dimensionals gave the whole card a bold, polished finish.

The added greenery gives the scene that little something extra, and I love how it transformed the design without overcomplicating it. A simple technique with a really striking result. 🌿✨
