On Display Project: Turning Leftovers Into the Main Feature

This project started with the main bookshelf die from the On Display bundle. Normally, after cutting it from Basic White, you’d keep the shelf piece and sweep the nine little inner panels into the scrap pile. This time, those little pieces were too good to ignore, so they became the whole inspiration.

How the Idea Took Shape
I stamped each of the nine panels with bright, happy colours using images from the stamp set. Because every panel was different, the whole collection looked like tiny art tiles. Once they were all stamped, I played around with the layout, mixing them into a random pattern until the arrangement felt balanced and lively.

To add some depth, a few of the pieces were popped up on dimensionals while others stayed flat. This simple change gives the card movement and keeps the eye wandering across all the little details.

Finishing Touches
Everything was adhered to a Coastal Cabana card base, which brings a fresh, energetic feel to the final look. It’s a reminder that the things we usually toss aside can become something special with a little imagination.

Why This Project Was So Fun
It’s easy to forget that dies give you more than the main piece. Sometimes the leftovers have just as much potential. This card is a great example of experimenting and letting a simple idea take you somewhere unexpected.
