For today’s Painterly Pears feature, I’m sharing a project that was inspired by last Friday’s scrapbooking layout. That layout had such a great vibe that I thought—why not try a similar idea on a card? The result is what I’m calling the Pear-fectly Pieced Brick Card.
The Design: Brickwork with Scraps
Sometimes the most fun projects come from the leftovers! I gathered up some scraps of the Painterly Pears Designer Series Paper and cut them into brick pieces. From there, I arranged them in a brick pattern across the card front. It’s simple, but it creates such a beautiful textured look—almost like a tiled mosaic.
Why I Love This Technique
This style is perfect if you love using every last piece of your paper. The Painterly Pears DSP is too gorgeous to waste, so turning the off-cuts into a brickwork design is both satisfying and stunning. Each piece adds to the whole, and no two cards will look exactly alike.
Finishing Touches
To keep the focus on the patterned paper, I kept the rest of the card simple with coordinating cardstock and minimal embellishments. The brick design really takes centre stage here.
See It In Action
And the fun doesn’t stop here—tomorrow I’ll be sharing a reel showing exactly how this Pear-fectly Pieced Brick Card came together step by step. Be sure to check back so you can try it yourself!
