Welcome to Painterly Pears Week! 

I’m so excited to share the very first project in this series—a Pocket Accordion Card featuring the beautiful Painterly Pears Suite Collection. This suite has quickly become a favourite of mine with its lush fruit, delicate blossoms, and soft, vintage-inspired colours. It’s perfect for creating something fresh, charming, and a little bit different. 

For this project, I started with a Mossy Meadow card base and scored it into three folds to create an accordion-style foundation. To add a little twist, I cut a diagonal piece off the cover—holding onto that piece for later. I love that this fold already starts with something unexpected! 

The Painterly Pears Designer Series Paper is truly stunning, so I made sure all the front-facing edges were covered with coordinating patterns. The diagonal piece I trimmed earlier got a second life inside the card—this time transformed into a pocket by adding matching DSP over the top. 

Inside that pocket sits a tag I created with Petal Pink cardstock, topped with a coordinating DSP design on the front and Basic White on the back for writing a message. A simple punched hole with ribbon tied through finishes it off beautifully. 

For the cover, I die-cut four pears directly from the DSP and arranged them along the edge for a full, lush look. The sentiment is stamped in Versamark on Mossy Meadow, heat-embossed in white, then trimmed and added as the final detail on the front. 

On the inside, I added one more special element—a torn diagonal strip of Mossy Meadow cardstock along the back panel. This gave the pears a striking background and added a lovely rustic touch. 

The Pocket Accordion Card has the best of everything: interactive folds, a hidden pocket, a removable tag, and of course the soft, elegant designs of the Painterly Pears Suite. It’s a fun project to make and an absolute delight to give.
