Brewed for Adventure ☕🧭

We’re kicking off our Weekend Adventures series with a fun, masculine card that’s perfect for the coffee (or hot chocolate!) lover in your life. This project has a rustic, outdoorsy feel while still being simple enough to recreate at home.

The Inspiration

The Weekend Adventures Stamp Set is packed with images and sentiments that make you think of road trips, camping, and exploring. The mug image instantly caught our eye—it’s such a great symbol of cozy moments on an adventure, whether you’re sitting by a campfire or starting the day before a big hike.

How It Came Together

Base Layers: We started with a Cajun Craze card base and added a layer of Pecan Pie Two-Tone cardstock. On the lighter side of the cardstock, we repeatedly stamped the mug image using Pecan Pie ink. This creates a subtle, textured background without overwhelming the design.
Retro Corners: To give the card a scrapbook-style look, we added Early Espresso photo corners. It almost feels like a snapshot tucked into a well-loved adventure album.
Focal Mugs: The mugs were stamped on three different sheets of the Weekend Adventures DSP and again on dark Pecan Pie Two-Tone cardstock. After fussy-cutting, we layered them directly over the background mugs for extra dimension and contrast.
The Sentiment: On a strip of Early Espresso cardstock, we heat-embossed the sentiment in white. The crisp contrast against the deep brown really makes it pop.

Why We Love It

The earthy colour palette, textured background, and playful mugs come together to create a design that feels warm, rugged, and brewed for adventure. This card would be perfect for birthdays, thinking-of-you notes, or just to send a smile to someone who loves a good coffee break.
