Extraordinary Flora in Action: Masking Technique Made Easy 🌿

Today I’m sharing the second project in my Extraordinary Flora series — and this one is a real showstopper! ✨ I actually created it live with our YouTube Members, and it turned out so stunning that I couldn’t wait to post it here too.

For this card, I started with a bold Berry Burst card base. I added a layer of Very Vanilla and then another layer of Berry Burst cardstock. On this top layer, I stamped the large Extraordinary Flora background image diagonally across the cardstock to give it a full, patterned look.

To add some extra interest, I used the large Extraordinary Flora die as a mask. I cut the shape from scrap cardstock, aligned it with my stamped image, and then blended Berry Burst ink over the top with a blending brush. The result is a gorgeous layered effect that makes the background really pop!

Next, I brought in some layered circles using the Spotlight on Nature dies — one cut from Berry Burst and a smaller one from Very Vanilla. On top of this, I added beautiful florals cut from the Extraordinary Flora Washi Tape using the coordinating die. These florals gave the card a bright, dimensional touch that perfectly balanced the bold background.

For the sentiment, I heat embossed in white on Berry Burst cardstock, then fussy cut and adhered it to the card. Finally, a few sparkling embellishments gave it just the right amount of shine. ✨ I absolutely love how this card came together — it has layers, texture, and colour all working in harmony.

💬 Have you ever tried masking with dies in your projects? If so, what did you create? And if not, would you give this technique a try? Share your thoughts in the comments below — I’d love to hear from you! 🌿
