Hello, craft enthusiasts and fellow creators! Today, I’m buzzing with excitement as I bring you an exclusive sneak peek into one of the standout suites from the upcoming Stampin' Up! catalogue, which opens for ordering on May 1, 2024. The Mediterranean Blooms Suite Collection has completely captured my heart, and I can't wait to share the projects I've been working on.
The Inspiration Behind My Projects
A few years ago, we had the fantastic opportunity to dive into the Mediterranean Blooms Suite thanks to a special crafting event and a lucky win at OnStage. My latest creations are inspired by a day spent in the picturesque island of Capri, where the azure hues of the sea meet the vibrant colors of citrus and the timeless patterns of painted tiles.
Crafting the Card
I began my project with a sturdy base made from Night of Navy cardstock, which sets a deep, rich tone right from the start. The background is layered with a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) that reminds me of the beautiful blue tiles I saw in Capri. This DSP is not just a background element but a centerpiece that transports anyone who sees it straight to those sun-drenched Mediterranean shores.
To add a zest of life and color, I fussy-cut oranges from another sheet of the DSP and adhered them to the card. This not only brings a pop of color but also incorporates a taste of the region’s renowned citrus.
The sentiment is courtesy of the Citrus Blooms stamp set. I stamped it on Night of Navy cardstock and used a die from the Stylish Shapes collection for a perfect cutout. Behind this, I added a banner in Boho Blue, complementing the card's overall color scheme perfectly.
Not Forgetting the Envelope
Every detail counts, and that extends to the envelope as well. I believe a beautifully decorated envelope sets the stage for the card inside. I used offcuts from the same DSP to create a cohesive look. Additionally, I cut out more oranges and adhered them to the envelope, making it a work of art in its own right. This detail ensures that the recipient feels special from the moment they receive their mail.

The Mediterranean Blooms Suite is truly a standout in the upcoming catalogue, and it's not just because of its visual appeal. The versatility of the materials and the vibrancy of the colors make it a must-have for any crafter looking to add some flair to their creations. I’m particularly excited to get more of the paper and to try out the stunning Opal Rounds assortment featured on page 35 of the new catalogue.
