As the launch of our 2024 Annual Catalogue on May 1st draws near, I'm excited to dive into a special project featuring the delightful Country Woods Suite. This suite captures the essence of rustic charm and has quickly become a staple for its versatile designs. Today, let's explore a birdhouse-themed card that embodies the warmth of country living.
Building the Base
I started with a Basic Black card base for a dramatic contrast that makes the lighter layers stand out. I added layers of Pecan Pie and Pool Party, creating a visually appealing palette that complements the rustic theme.
The Country Birdhouse Bundle
The heart of this project is the birdhouse, crafted using the Country Birdhouse Bundle. This bundle includes both the Country Birdhouse Dies and the Photopolymer Stamp Set. Using these dies, I created the birdhouse with Pecan Pie, Basic Black, and Pool Party cardstocks, plus a touch of Country Woods Designer Series Paper for extra texture.
The detail of these dies allows for precise cuts, making each element—from the roof to the entrance—stand out beautifully. It’s easy to customize your project by mixing different papers and colors.
Soft Background and Sentiment
For the background, I opted for a Basic White base and softly blended Pool Party ink to simulate a serene sky. This gentle addition of color ties the background to the main elements smoothly.
The sentiment was stamped in Versamark on Pool Party cardstock, then heat embossed with White Embossing Powder to make it pop. I hand-cut around the embossed sentiment, giving it a bespoke feel and adding a personalized touch.
