Sending a Card to Say Hello | Sending Smiles

Hi There! It's Bruno here and I have a project to share with you!

I really love how this project turned out. Of course, it was nothing like I imagined in my mind after it was completed. When I finished this, I thought it looked like a Hawaiian Shirt - do you agree?

Would you like to make it?

Here are the steps;
  1. Cut out Crumb Cake card base.
  2. Cut out piece of Kraft cardstock at 10.5cm x 14.9 cm (5 1/2" x 4 1/4")
  3. Pass this piece of Kraft through Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine using the Hive 3D Embossing Folder. Adhere to card.
  4. Cut out piece of Basic White cardstock at 13.9 cm x 9.5 cm (3 3/4" x 5").
  5. Using Blending Brushes, blend the following colours together (as shown on the sample); Orchid Oasis, Calypso Coral, Granny Apple Green and Daffodil Delight. Allow this ink to FULLY DRY.
  6. Using the Embossing Buddy from the Embossing Additions Kit (A MUST HAVE IN EVERY CRAFT ROOM), apply this buddy liberally to the front of the blended piece of cardstock. Repeat this twice.
  7. Using Versamark, stamp floral image from Lovely and Lasting Stamp Set at the top and the bottom of the cardstock.
  8. On the bottom stamped image, apply White Embossing Powder. Remove any stray powder using the embossing brush from the Embossing Kit. Once satisfied there is no stray embossing, Heat emboss using Heat Tool.
  9. Apply Adhesive Sheet to rear of piece of Basic White cardstock. Using 'Sending' die, cut out 'Sending' and carefully adhere to blended and stamped piece. Be sure to not lose the dot from the 'I'.
  10. Using the outline of the 'Sending' die, cut out from blended and stamped piece.
  11. Adhere the main Blended and Stamped piece to card with sentiment missing.
  12. Using a piece of Foam Adhesive sheet, cut out the 'Sending' shadow piece using the die.
  13. Peel back the front of the Adhesive Sheet and adhere the stamped 'Sending' piece to the front.
  14. Peel back the rear of the Adhesive Sheet and adhere the piece to the card.
  15. Using the Embossing Buddy from the Embossing Additions Kit rub the piece of Kraft cardstock.
  16. Stamp 'A Card to Say Hello' using Versamark ink.
  17. Apply White Embossing Powder and using the Heat Tool, heat emboss.
  18. Adhere this stamped piece to a piece of Foam Adhesive Sheet and cut out using die. Adhere to card.
  19. Take a piece of Kraft paper and cut to 17 cm x 7 cm. Run through SCEM using the Hive 3D Embossing Folder. Adhere to envelope flap and cut around edge.

  1. Yes, it absolutely looks like a Hawaiian shirt! I'm stunned that the Versamark "watermark effect" works over ink, and not just cardstock. It looks fabulous!
