Happy Anniversary | Simply Elegant Suite Card Three Ways

Hi There! Its Bruno here and I have some simple projects to share with you today. Make sure you read till the end of this project to find out about the Join+ Promotion where you can get $114 of products FREE! But, back to the projects.

When I first saw the catalogue, there was one sheet of paper that was simply my favourite sheet of Designer Series Paper ...... EVER! It was THIS sheet....

It is absolutely gorgeous! It reminds me of the Chrysler Building in New York and is a quintessential Art Deco pattern. I love that the base colour is Basic Grey. So, when I started out on this project, I wanted to create something that truly featured the paper and anything else would be complementary. Here is what I ended up with;

Its a Basic Grey card base with the DSP as the main feature with a piece if Gold Foil over the top and an intermediate layer in Basic Grey. It's a simple card, but I love how it turned out. Its very moody (like me, I guess!)

So, I liked how it turned out. So, I set out to try making two other cards using two other sheets of the Specialty DSP with foil. Here is the second card (using Basic Black and Copper Foil)

And, here is the third card with Basic White and Golf Foil.

For each of the sentiments, I embossed onto card stock and hand cut and adhered to the card base using dimensionals.

Which card is your favourite? Leave a comment below and let me know. I know which one is my favourite.

  1. Bruno, you're almost making me want this paper. I guess I have an entire year to make up my mind. LOL! I dislike Art Deco as an architectural style (I know, I'm a blasphemer) but the paper is pretty. I'm more of a Victorian girl, so the white card is my favorite. They're all stunning, though. I love the layout. Is the metallic cardstock on dimensionals?

  2. Kat Mahon here. I can't make up my mind which one I like the best. Oh dear! I guess if I had to pick one...... I can't choose just one!!! LOL! They are all beautiful. You have a great eye for design. I love using your cards for ideas on my cards. Sorry if I am stealing your ideas. But I thank you so much for sharing them because I sit and look at my paper and for the life of me cannot "see" a design or a finished card in front of me. You and Kylie make card making look so easy. Love it! Chop it! BTW, I have done all my DSP in LICI! Now what to make with al that paper, I am again overwhelmed! Oh my! Thank you both for all you do for us beginners and no artistic ability (left-handed) people.

  4. Great cards. Bruno! I thought the same thing about the sheet of paper that reminded you of the Chrysler Building. I grew up in New York City and it was and still is one of my most favorite buildings. I had the privilege of working at an office in the building for 10 years. While I was there the lobby underwent extensive renovations for a few years in order to restore the wall and ceiling murals etc. The elevators are magnificent! The doors are made of metal and exotic woods in art deco designs with Egyptian art influence and the cabs have equally gorgeous wood patterns. I got such a thrill each and every morning when I arrived for work!
