A Beautiful Life with the Global Design Project #026

I had a card in mind that I wanted to make this week for a friend that has been suffering with Basel Cell Cancer - its a skin tumour and this one was very aggressive. He is doing really well but has gone through a serious of radiation treatments that have knocked him around.

I know that he had a red VW when he was younger and thought that the Beautiful Life stamp set would be perfect for this card. Using Teneale Williams sketch from the Global Design Project it helped to bring this card together.

Here is my card -

I adore the sentiment it is so bold and strong. It comes from the Enjoy the Little things stamp set.
I stamped the VW in our Archival Basic Black and then watercoloured it. The "road" is also just some watercolour placed on in no particular way.

It is a very clean and masculine card but I think it says so much. Being a red VW - it is a Brave one and yet has so many memories of good times for my friend.

If you haven't already, make sure you head over to the Global Design Project challenge this week. The sketch is just gorgeous.

Remember if you would like to be highlighted on my blog this week there is still time to play along.

  3. Love the way you've colored this little bug, Kylie. It's hard to find good masculine cards, but I think you've nailed it on this one. Thanks for sharing this idea.
