A fine tip glue pen is especially useful when you need to apply adhesive to small or intricate areas without getting glue everywhere. The Stampin' Up! Fine-Tip Glue Pen was designed for detailed paper crafting, including small die cuts, sequins, glitter and lightweight embellishments.

What Can You Use a Fine Tip Glue Pen For?

The very fine applicator makes this type of adhesive particularly useful for detailed card making and paper crafting. It can be used for:

Small paper and die-cut pieces
Intricate die-cut words and designs
Sequins and other lightweight embellishments
Adding small amounts of glitter
Creating fine lines and detailed areas of adhesive

It isn't intended for heavier embellishments such as buttons. For those, a stronger adhesive designed for heavier items is a better choice.

How to Apply the Glue

One of the biggest advantages of a fine tip glue pen is that you only need a tiny amount of adhesive.

Gently squeeze the bottle and place a small dab of glue exactly where you need it. You don't need to apply much pressure. The harder you squeeze, the more glue will come through the precision tip.

For example, when attaching a sequin, place a small dab of glue onto your project first and then position the sequin on top.

Using Fine Tip Glue on Intricate Die Cuts

Intricate paper pieces can be difficult to adhere with larger glue applicators. A precision tip allows you to place tiny amounts of adhesive along narrow sections of a die cut without covering the surrounding cardstock in glue.

This is particularly handy for detailed words, delicate shapes and other small paper cut-outs used in handmade cards.

Using a Glue Pen with Glitter

You can also use a fine tip glue pen to create your own glitter details. Try drawing a word, line or small design with the adhesive and then adding glitter over the top.

Shake away the excess glitter and allow the adhesive to dry completely before handling your project.

How to Stop the Fine Tip from Clogging

The original Stampin' Up! Fine-Tip Glue Pen has a very fine metal applicator and a small metal pin inside the cap. These pieces work together when the bottle is closed to help prevent glue from drying inside the tip.

Take care not to bend either metal piece. When replacing the cap, carefully guide the pin back into the opening in the applicator tip rather than forcing the cap into place.

A handy trick shown in the video is to hold the applicator tip beside your finger while replacing the cap. This can make it easier to line up the tiny pin correctly.
